Phil, Your mention of Jay's pictures reminded me that while we were changing the timing belt, Jay mentioned he changed the rear bearings. Chris and I were about to leave so I didn't get more details; but, he said it made his rear end feel new (I didn't ask Barb her opinion! ) Congratulations on the mile stone... And remember the desert is very pretty in the winter (ask spock!). Ride safe (for another 100k), Mark |

"Uncle" Phil. I take you point but still can't see how you missed it.It's between Rhonda's and Scott's. What pissed me off is the way you answer multiple people. Like Rhonda,,,,, Scott,,,, Tim,,,, A simple "Pat thanks but no thanks" would have done,as to my whereabouts no need to worry on that one. Ask Greg Baker,He thought because my name's Pat I MUST be in Ireland.,, Be Safe,, Pat |

Pat--You are way too hypersensitive, my friend, for this or any Forum. And specifically with regards to Phil, you will not find a friendlier or more respected member on this Forum. Take some advice from an entirely too old coot. COOL IT and enjoy life much more!!! C.B. |

What C.B. said. Once again, one of the forum's wisest has spoken. C.B. for President!!! Pat - You'll need to go a long way to find nicer people than Uncle Phil, however understand that his relationship with many of the people on this forum goes back years. He's ridden with, bunked with, dined with and entertained many of those that he responded to. Stick around for a while, continue to contribute, attend some rallies and you'll feel the love...trust me. There's a ton of super people on this forum and I hope to meet many more of them face to face over the coming years. |

Pat - While I don't want to prolong this, your use of statements like "What pissed me off is the way you..." led us to defend the person we know to have a heart of gold. If we misinterpreted that, or you didn't mean it, then it indeed can and should be, end of story. |

And now, trying to un-hijack the thread back to its intended purpose... Way to go Uncle Phil! Now how about the Canadian Provinces & Territories? |

Reg, The point in that thread "What pissed me off,,,," was the guy listed the other people and made no reference to mine.THAT'S what gave me the impression he was ignoring it.Ok, look at it from my side,, Pat,, |

Pat: Don't take it so personal. The person who has the time to respond to each and every post is rare indeed. I post often here and if there are responses to or awknowledgement of half of them, I'd be very surprised. Phil: Get busy with your 2nd hundred thousand. Cheers! |

Good Grief... I hit 100,000 miles somewhere around Killington, VT this summer. No big deal! After all, it is an ST1100. Ride fast, Ride safe |

I suppose it's not that big a deal for an ST, but it is a nice milestone. I wish I had the time to ride that much. |

Phil: I'll chime in late (no need to acknowledge me either ) and say congrats. I just turned over 40,000 after a disappointingly wet and cool summer. I know that I was with you for about 1,500 of those miles on your odometer, and they were all good. You were one of the first people on this board to give me offline advice, so I hope you are around for another 100,000 miles. |

Hello Uncle Phil & Sharyn, First off, you have got to remove the carbs to get at all the coolant hoses underneath. While you are at it please use the invaluable Martins' advice and get rid of the PAIR emmisions stuff underneath there. This will not only simplify putting it all back together but will also remove weight. It may not be much, but when a Gentleman like yourself decides to 'rest' it on the tipover cover as gracefully as you, every ounce counts. Those legs aren't getting any younger you know. Did any one say just think about the steering head bearings? You just know this group will cover it all. After many miles immediately behind the RedBird a few weeks ago I can report there is nothing obviously wrong from that perspective. However there is a gasp of unburnt fuel from the exhaust when you punch it after loafing in second on those 55 mph downhill decreasing radius curves... in a construction zone. Your battery and Jerry's left hand mirror now are stuff of ST legend. A real pleasure riding with you and looking forward to the next time at the V3. Lobster for Thanksgiving? Right behind you ( do not misinterpret ). Jay |

Congratulations Phil, well done! Just one thing though -- how do we know that's really the Redbird in all the pictures? Now if your smiling face was in each one... Just kidding! |

COOP - That would mean YOU would have to accompany me back to each state line and take the picture so that they would be certified. When do you want to start? |

Somehow I just knew that you would think about it and come up with that solution. I'll have to get a new set of tires before we can start, but this time you'll have to officially get the Wisconsin line first! |

COOP - Think maybe we could get a sponsor so we could do at our leisure? I would make a really good rich kid - this day job really cuts into my riding time! DON - I hope to bring my honey with me next trip. I want to ride Highway 1 up from Ventura back to 128 where I stopped from the north end. And of course, spend a little time at the fabulous Casa Cortez! Give Miss Joyce a hug for me and tell Don, Jr. I said hello from the Holler! The leaves are turning right now and we've got some real pretty colors. |
