Are you coming from Ironton or Portsmouth? Are you staying at either one or something? Some of my wife's family lives in Proctorville and I can ask them which one would be better - there's not much in Ironton that I remember and it stinks. If youre stopping there for the night, you may as well come on across the river and stay in Ashland. ..... |

Jason - Thanks for the clarification on the dates/locations. I will be leaving PA on Monday (5/25) and heading towards Kentucky. I hope to take a Maker's Mark tour in Loretto Tuesday around noon and will then be headed for the Microtel Inn in Georgetown Tuesday afternoon. Please send me the "good" route from Georgetown to Loretto (trnewtown@msn.com). I am using MapSource (version 6.15.6). |

FYI Reg - I'm not going to be leaving from home now. I'm leaving on Memorial Day from Chicago (heading to Chicago this Thursday evening or Friday) and meeting up with Christian in St Louis. Then we'll head on over to Georgetown on Tuesday. |

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it this year...Big Bend trip still has me playing catch-up with work. I do however intend on saving the routes for future reference...in fact I may try riding some of them on my way to the Blue Ridge ride if I can fit that in this fall. Enjoy the ride fellas and take lots of pictures for us desk jockeys! |

The group had a good meal last night and enjoyed having Uncle Phil pick our pockets.
Jim Menard explains the features of his wine storage device.
Uncle Phil chats with Moff, Keith, David and John Nagle via Skype.
Jay adjusts his bra in an unladylike fashion at the table.

Home safe. Nice weather for slabbing. 450 miles, 6 hrs. 45 min. One stop for fuel. Is that good? Really cheap shot, Tom. I knew I should have taken a shower instead of having a beer. Had a great time. Thank you Tom, Mike, Phil, Jason and everyone who made this such a good time, let's do it again! Finally took a shower... Jaybird |

OK. A few photos, because that's all I took. We had too much fun rolling through the hills and valleys. On Saturday, Charlie led four of us on a nice 300-mile adventure through Virginia and West Virginia. Most of the roads looked pretty much like this:
or looking the other way:
In the town of Blue Grass, we took a quick break (after three straight hours of riding) and stopped in front of this abandoned structure:
We stopped a bit later in front of "Slim's," another decaying and abandoned structure. That's me in the photo:
Charlie looked like this when we returned:
But he toned it down a bit later so Jason wouldn't feel bad about taking the day off to clean his bike:
Jim was pretty much tuckered out after the JJJ ride and Charlie's excursion:
Jay had to wait Saturday morning for Dan to wake up, but he still rode enough to get tuckered out. He had to refresh himself on his private deck:
Andy and Dan decided to keep away from Jay until post-shower time:
Tons and tons of photos were taken at the dinner, so I'll refrain from posting any of my lousy ones. However, here is one of Uncle Phil holding a Skype conference with those guys across the pond. We couldn't hear the conversation, but it was a cool thing to do:
I've got a lot of other things to catch up on, so that's it. Thanks, Tom, for all the hard work putting this together. And also to Mary, because Tom can't do it alone. It was great to see everyone again. |

Home. Long day of slab but great weather. 420 mile slab ride today bumped the total for the whole week to 1275. Pretty good little ride. I'll post pics later after some rest. ....... |

Mary and I home and I've managed to get the grass cut. I think this is the first ride home from FriendSTOC that we did not hit any rain. Thanks to everyone who showed up and helped in one way or another. Special thanks to Uncle Phil for keeping everyone in line and lubricating the wallets, Mike Miller for the shirt project again this year, Jason for getting everyone there safely, and Peter Menard for the generous donation. Also, to Reg for the webmaster duties again this year. If I left anyone out, I'll remember later or remind me. (take it easy on Jay, he did some hard miles on that side trip to DC traffic) I'll try to get some pictures up later. Still unpacking and packing for Americade. We had a great time as always. It was good seeing everyone again. I think we're going to have to come up with longevity pins next year. Tom |

Looks like a great time was had by all. Sorry I missed it. Maybe when I get on a fixed income and an unfixed schedule like Guy I will have more flexibility to be able to attend again in the future. |

Well, I got back to the Holler around 3 PM yesterday to find that AT&T had cut the waxed string that connected the tin cans for my blazing fast internet connections of 28.8 K. But they're on it so I may have service back by Tuesday evening. Had a great time and many thanks to Jason for leading the Triple J. It was nice to be able to be the sweep and just relax at the end of the line. And it was good to able to insul..., errr, talk to the Brits and John via Skype. Thanks for Tom putting it on again and thanks to Mike for getting the t-shirts done! RedBird-97STD 123,000+M SweetTreat-02ABS 53,000+M FroST-97ABS 17,000+M http://www.unclephil.us/

Rolled into Guelph,ON at noon today. Cool (42 F to 52 F) and overcast all day from Grove City (1/2 hour north of Pittsburgh,Pa.) Yesss..the Gerbings were helpful!!!! Started to drizzle about 1/2 from home.....a fitting end to the previous 10 days of leaning. Had a GREAT time. It was great to renew old aquaintances and make new ones. Special thanks to Tom Wright for putting this event together. Also special thanks to Jason S. for putting together the JJJ.....You've ruined me for riding here at home. As "ARNOLD" once said...."I vill be back"(to Kentucky). Thanks also to your family and In-Laws for their generous hospitality. Andeeeeee |

Ditto on that, UP. Very clean, quiet and comfortable, and the proximity to all those great roads made it pretty much perfect. |

I think I was the customary last one to leave Sunday. Took the long way south to Salem (Roanoke) to visit with my Dad. I made it home, the 5th, about 11:30 pm after a long ride in the rain. Lots of miles, lots of smiles, good roads, good folks, good grub. Thanks to all! |
